Feelin' Good with Marie: the week where I run a half marathon with zero technology and print my entire inbox
happy Sunday!!
the half marathon, uncut
You saw the signs.
I ran the whole thing with NOTHING. No phone. No smartwatch. No little ring telling me how recovered I was.
So for two hours, the only information I had about my body came from my actual body. Can you believe that?
And I still hit my goal exactly. Two hours. The only number I got all day was the one on the clock at the finish!
For years I read a score every morning telling me how I slept and how hard yesterday was and whether I was allowed to feel good today. And I would check the score BEFORE checking how I felt.
You can just sleep, run, eat, live and find out how it went by noticing.
(for the record, the sign that ended me was Never trust a fart after mile 10. I lost a solid fifteen seconds laughing)
creator number one
Meet Caitlin properly.
On LinkedIn I told you she’s our first UGC creator, 11 years with type 1 diabetes, and makes content that’s funny about the annoying parts and honest about the hard ones.
She left her café job to go all in on her own agency, Third Space Creatives. And we all love a founder girlie.
Politely say no thank you to the safe version of life, and hang around with others who do!
Creator number one being a founder feels exactly right.
(go follow her. and not just because she’s on our team now)
thing of the week: the laptop-free morning
Michael and I walk to a café every morning and talk with no laptops.
Doing nothing is a muscle and most of us have let it go completely soft.
In France you sit for two hours, argue about something that doesn’t matter, watch people walk past, and nobody thinks you’re wasting your life. A café in San Francisco at 8am is just an office with worse chairs.
We don’t call it a meeting and there’s no agenda. Co-founders talk about the company all day - you have to protect the time where you just talk regular!
Try it once this week!!!!
self care hack
print out every slack and email you get. then SHRED IT ALL!!!! muahahahaha
jk. many people took this too seriously on linkedin...
quote for you
“Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted.”
Everyone credits Einstein. It was actually a sociologist named William Bruce Cameron, FYI
Sums up the whole week. Take the watch off!!!
Until next time: run the race, quit the thing, sit at the café like you have nowhere to be 🧡
