Feelin' Good with Marie: The week where I accidentally became a Restaurant Depot regular, French food in SF, AI confessionals and the cold plunge that almost wasn’t.
Hi and thank you for actually reading this again.
Welcome to restaurant depot
Building a business puts you in rooms you’ve never dreamed of.
Investor dinners? Of course. But Restaurant Depot? Restaurant Depot????
This is the glamorous side. Living the high life.
Fluorescent lights, pallets of sauce, and a man with a forklift.
10/10 would recommend a visit.
Best french places in SF (and need more)
I am French and live in SF. This makes me a (self-appointed) authority.
My current shortlist:
Maison Nico (Jackson Square) - best place for a slow morning. Croissant + coffee, pretend you have nowhere to be.
L’Ardoise (Castro) - incredible cheese plate. Sit down on a Tuesday night and convince yourself you’re in Paris.
I know I’m missing some, so please let me know....
A run through SF
Took you all on a run through SF this week, training for my half-marathon coming up 🫠
Thing of the week: my ai running coach
Ok, recurring series alert!
Every week I will share one tool or app that actually makes my life better. (no endorsements or sponsorships, i am a free-willed spirit)
This week’s thing-that-makes-me-feel-good is also this week’s source of mild guilt:
I’ve been testing an AI running coach (still in stealth) that dynamically adjusts my training based on what’s actually happening in my life, asks questions, and remembers everything.
Which means this week I had to confess that I only ran once last week
I gave a legit excuse (we were coordinating something big), and then instinctively ended the message with “happy Friday!!” as if that would smooth it over with a robot.
Anyone else using AI trainers / companions? Tell me I’m not the only one apologizing to them.
Cold plunge (a first)
First person in SF to do a cold plunge. Do not fact check this claim.
Overall, this week has been full of creator outreach, new formulas, and upcoming partnerships... I’ve never felt so excited and challenged than building in consumer.
The world totally opens up, and you’re dealing with people individually, rather than businesses that are logical and use spreadsheets.
There’s no way I’d rather spend time. Try some gummies, we’re all over now.
Until next time! Drink water, eat cheese, apologize to your AI 🫡
-Marie ❤️
