Chew On This! The week where we work from Hobby Lobby, break a leaderboard, sponsor a triathlon, and Marie admits AI saved her career
Welcome back to another week.
The hobby lobby office
Marie might be the first person in history to work remotely from inside a Hobby Lobby, sitting on a display chair they sell, while waiting for an Uber.
Coworking glitch?
We broke our own leaderboard
Last week we hid a game at the bottom of GloGlo.com and said if you beat a score of 20, we’d send you free gummies.
We now have a lot of gummies to send.
Hundreds of attempts poured in, and winners sliding into DMs, comments, the chatbot, showing up in person.
Someone scored 420 with a bot (respect), and the top verifiable human score was Maxime Klein at 82.
Quickly beat by someone who got 237... not a bot, we don’t think. Respect
Think you can beat Brandon? Go to GloGlo.com and scroll all the way down.
From pop-up to triathlon sponsor
We sponsored a triathlon...
This is one of our favorite consumer brand stories so far.
It started at the GloGlo pop-up in Alamo Square. Marie in the dog costume, spinning the prize wheel.
Julia Roccato came by, spun the wheel, loved the gummies, and said she’d love for us to sponsor her triathlon team.
She connected us with Hannah Longwill from Haas Triathlon at UC Berkeley, who manages sponsorships. They had a group competing in the Napa Valley Spring Triathlon on April 11th.
So we sent them GloGlo gummies to fuel up before and during the race.
One person shows up to your pop-up, tries your product, and suddenly you’re sponsoring a triathlon team at Berkeley.
You can’t plan these things. You just have to show up, be in the community, and let the connections happen.
If you’re an athlete, race organizer, or team captain, DM Marie. We’d love to get gummies in your hands before your next event.
AI on dyslexia
In high school, Marie had a human note-taker paid by her public school because her writing was that bad due to dyslexia.
Fast forward to today: she’s a founder who writes LinkedIn posts, emails investors (newsletters sometimes...), and communicates with customers and creators every single day, thanks to AI.
For anyone with dyslexia, AI closed the gap between what you’re thinking and what comes out.
AI gets a lot of praise and a lot of hate, but it’s easy to overlook how the technology is helping real people with actual problems
200+ creators and counting
First week our goal was 50 creators, the next week was 102, then 200+, now 500+.
After years building in B2B SaaS , consumer is a completely different animal.
You ship a product and 200 people have different opinions instantly. Someone rips open a bag and either likes it or doesn’t. One person says too sweet. The next says not sweet enough.
We’ve been iterating on packaging and formula while the last batch is still in transit.
Marie at MIT
Marie is heading to NYC this weekend and then giving a fireside chat at MIT Sloan led by the AI club on Tuesday at 12pm!
Reach out if you’re in NY or Boston! She’s down for coffee, running, or whatever works.
Want free gummies?
Hit us up. We might send some.
Until next time: stay caffeinated, stay dancing, and keep shipping!!
