Chew On This: The week where we get close with creators, see Matisse in nyc, and uber to the wrong cambridge
Welcome back to another week.
Creators > distributors
We’ve been reaching out to a lot of creators lately, and we never ask for posts.
We ask for honest feedback on the packaging, the formula, all of it.
These are runners, athletes, type 1 diabetics, exactly who GloGlo is for. So they’re willing to actually tell us what they think.
If they hate it, we get valuable information on how to improve. If they love it, they usually end up making a video on their own.
Win-win.
For a consumer brand, creators are essentially your distributors now. You want them close, not transactional.
Matisse in new york
Marie got to see the Matisse show in New York this week.
Enough said
Spotlight: Kath, the goat
Last week was Administrative Professionals Day, so we want to highlight Kath.
She’s Marie’s right hand and keeps the whole world running. Business ops, personal stuff, and 300 “can we make this happen today?”s at 9pm.
When we launched GloGlo Gummies (YC), Kath was deep in production and logistics. We asked her what more founders should know about working with assistants, and her answer was: the more context you share, the faster your assistant can move. No constant back-and-forth.
Hiring Kath is the best decision I’ve made as a founder.
This is a reminder - thank your assistants!
Using 14.ai to tame TikTok DMs
A real-world example of how we’re using AI to power GloGlo:
When you’re sending and receiving a ton of DMs from creators (sample asks, addresses, shipping, feedback, fielding inbound), it gets overwhelming.
The TikTok app stacks everything in one inbox. No way to prioritize or way to track who you’ve responded to or who’s waiting on you.
Especially clunky when a whole team is sharing the same inbox.
So we got TikTok API access and put 14.ai on the backend. Now we can see who needs a response, what the action items are, and categorize messages by status. It’ll even answer straightforward product questions and draft responses.
I ubered to the wrong state
On Tuesday, Marie accidentally ubered to the wrong state...
Go look at her post for how and why...
At least she made it to her MIT fireside
Want gummies or have ideas? 🍬
Hit us up. We might send some.
Until next time, go look at something beautiful and stay close to the people who matter. Let’s have a great week!!
