Chew On This!
The week where we put on a dog costume, hide a game on our website, and run through San Francisco with 100 strangers
Welcome back to another week.
Believe harder than the evidence supports
Marie shared a study this week that basically argues the most mentally healthy people are delusional optimists.
Positive self-evaluations, exaggerated sense of control, unrealistic optimism, are all correlated with better mental health.
Having an accurate perception of reality? More associated with depression.
Her point: the 14.ai-to-gummy-supplement pipeline was not a rational career move.
Leaving Paris for San Francisco wasn’t either. But none of the best decisions they’ve made have ever looked good on a spreadsheet.
The safe road was 80 exits ago.
Maybe the healthiest thing you can do is believe in something a little harder than the data says you should.
Our first pop-up (featuring a dog costume)
GloGlo Gummies hit the streets for the first time this week - a pop-up in Alamo Square, SF.
Marie was in the dog costume.
Booth, banner, spin wheel, and our mascot Riva in full costumed glory.
The highlight was apparently how many strangers loved dancing with Marie-as-dog when they spun the wheel.
If you see a dog mascot spinning a prize wheel in your neighborhood, that’s probably us.
Paris vs. SF: the eternal debate
Marie went in on this one. She left Paris for San Francisco and she’s fully aware of what she gave up: two-hour lunches, weeks of vacation, sitting at cafés all day, and food that makes almost every US restaurant look bad.
And yet: no plans to go back.
The SF energy is velocity, ambition, and “you can just do things” mentality.
The comment section is worth a read too...
We made a mistake with this game
There’s a dog game at the bottom of our website.
We challenged people to get 20+ score, and we’d send them free gummies. More participants than expected...
Still, go play the dog game.
Breaking: ancient hieroglyphics translated
After 1,325 years, scientists finally translated the oldest hieroglyphics ever found.
The message was clear:
“quick call?”
Some things are timeless.
Smile running
Marie and Ugo went to Midnight Runners SF for the first time last week, running through the city with 100 strangers, music blasting.
Running, dancing, smiling, meeting strangers. Probably the best use of a weekday evening.
Also, they signed up for a half marathon in July and looking for running buddies. If you’re training too, link up
